Eufemia Plimpton, LCSW, BCBA

She/her

Originally from California, I received my bachelor’s in music from UC Santa Barbara and later moved to NYC where I received my master’s in social work from New York University. I gained my early clinical experience working with families in the Bronx as a clinician for the Astor Home for Children and became a licensed clinical social worker in 2010. I am also a board certified behavior analyst with experience helping people at all stages of life to empower themselves and learn strategies for better coping through behavioral and talk therapy.

My private practice specializes in helping adults who are experiencing emotional and/or behavioral problems. My primary expertise includes treatment of depression, anxiety, ADHD, relationship issues, parenting problems, career challenges, autism spectrum disorder, PTSD and trauma.

My counseling style is client-centered and goal-oriented. CBT and DBT are the primary theoretical orientations that I draw from because they provide practical tools for people to use to make effective and lasting change. I am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst and this also informs my practice. My approach is strengths-based, individualized, and grounded by a strong therapist–client alliance. I like to foster collaboration between client and therapist to work together to problem-solve with an emphasis on treatment goals. I will tailor our dialog and treatment plan to meet your unique and specific needs.

My awareness and appreciation of cross-cultural understanding grows continually, and I am proactive in this process. I believe in treating everyone with respect, sensitivity, and compassion, and I don't believe in stigmatizing labels.

It takes courage to seek a more fulfilling life and to take the first steps toward change. If you are ready to take those steps, I am here to support and empower you.
